Trooper Challenge!
We voted on a class name and THE TROOPERS won! So each week I try to challenge the students with a question that comes out of something within our conversations throughout the week. In setting the challenge, I urge them to go home, talk to Mom and Dad, talk to brothers and sisters, and try to do some research on their own to see if they can come up with an answer and become an "expert" on the topic.
This week's challenge, should they choose to accept it: Leap Years! Why do they exist? What's the science behind them?
*Students will not be graded on the Challenge, I just like the discussions that spark from their responses and participation! :) Have fun!
